1/2 pound thick-cut bacon
1/2 cup chopped pecans
1/2 cup brown sugar
4 slices rye bread
1/2 cup cream cheese, softened
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
2 tablespoons chopped chives
Black pepper, to taste
To make:
Preheat oven to 350F.
Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil and top it with a baking rack. Place the bacon in one layer on top of the rack
Mix together the pecans and brown sugar with t he black pepper. Sprinkle the mixture evenly over the bacon. Put the bacon into the oven and bake until the sugar is melted and the bacon is crisp, about 25 minutes. Remove and let cool a bit until crisp.
While the bacon is cooking, toast the bread and cut into quarters. Mix together the cream cheese and Worcestershire sauce.
To serve, spread the toast with the cream cheese mixture and top with a piece or two of bacon cut to fit. Then top with another dollop of cream cheese mixture and garnish with chopped chives.
